“Diakos” is a feature film shot over a period of six months on the mountains of Greece with the participation of over 300 amateur actors, workers, seamstresses and crew.
The script is based on the true events of a dark historical period, during which the subjugated Nation of the Greeks went through unimaginable trials! Aiming to present Diakos’ life, we have chosen key moments of his exceptional life, highlighting the many aspects of his character and soul!
The hero-martyr Diakos -fought like a Hero, died like a Martyr- justly holds one of the most enviable positions in the hearts of the Greeks!
Director Biography – Archimandrite Pavlos Douros
Archimandrite Pavlos Douros comes from Rachi Pieria and serves as a preacher in the Holy Diocese of Kitros, Katerini & Platamon since 1993.
He studied Theology and Philology at Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki. Initially, he became involved with amateur theater (RACHES THEATER, CHURCH STAGE “AGIOS FOTIOS”), and since 2013 with Cinema within the FILOTIMO films activities. In 2013 he and his team, filmed their first feature film “TALE WITHOUT A NAME” and recently he completed the Post Production of this 2nd feature film “DIAKOS The Heromartyr”
